La Chapelle d'Abondance
Traditional Savoyard village with low-key cross-border lift access.
La Chapelle d'Abondance is a Haute-Savoie village at 1,010 m on the road between Châtel and Torgon, lift-linked into the Swiss-side Portes du Soleil via the Crêt-Béni-Torgon system. The village stayed traditional Savoyard rather than purpose-built, with chalet architecture and a working cheesemaking culture. Quieter than Châtel; favoured for cross-border access without the busier French bases.
