Traditional Swiss valley village at the foot of the Dents du Midi.

Champéry is the Swiss anchor of Portes du Soleil, a traditional Valais village at 1,055 m at the foot of the Dents du Midi. The village kept its alpine-farming character (wooden chalets, stone churches, single main street), while the lift system above (the Champéry-Crosets-Avoriaz link) connects directly into the wider Portes du Soleil. Quieter than the French bases; favoured by trip-planners who want the village over the lift.
