Ellmau
Family-leaning Wilder-Kaiser-side village; quieter than Söll.
Ellmau is the family heart of SkiWelt, a working Tyrolean village at 800 m at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser. The lift base on Hartkaiser climbs into the wider SkiWelt network, with onward links to Söll and Going. Famous in Austria as the setting of the long-running Bergdoktor TV series. Most lodging skews family-run rather than hotel-block, and the after-ski scene is gentler than Söll's.
