Thyon is the highest base in the 4 Vallées, a purpose-built ski resort at 2,000 m above the Rhône valley with direct piste connections to Veysonnaz and onward to Nendaz and Verbier. The high altitude makes it the area's most snow-sure base, though the architecture is functional 1970s rather than chocolate-box. Ski-in/ski-out lodging dominates and the resort skews family-leaning with broad nursery slopes.
