Stuben am Arlberg

Traditional Vorarlberg-side hamlet, Albona freeride heritage.

Stuben is a tiny traditional village at 1,407 m on the Vorarlberg side of the Arlberg pass: one chairlift onto the Albona ridge, one main road, and the home of Hannes Schneider, the Austrian ski technique pioneer. The Albona sector above is famously snow-holding and off-piste-leaning, with long uncrowded freeride descents back to the village. Lodging is small and quiet; suits experienced skiers willing to trade nightlife for terrain.
