St. Anton am Arlberg

Lift-and-après hub of the Arlberg: busy, advanced-leaning, raucous.

St. Anton am Arlberg is the largest base in the Arlberg, a working market town at 1,304 m on the rail line from Innsbruck. The pedestrianised centre is dense with après bars (the Mooserwirt and Krazy Kanguruh among Austria's loudest), and the lift system above is the most extensive in the area, climbing through Galzig, Gampen, Rendl, and onward to St. Christoph and the Valluga. Terrain skews advanced and the freeride sector off Valluga and Schindlerkar is the area's signature. Family options exist but St. Anton tilts young-adult.
