Val d'Isère is the lower, prettier base of Espace Killy at 1,785 m. The pedestrian centre is Savoyard stone-and-larch (closer in feel to Méribel than to Tignes), and the resort hosts annual World Cup races on La Face de Bellevarde. Lodging spans family-run pensions to high-end chalet-hotels along Avenue Olympique. The shared lift system makes Tignes-side terrain accessible without changing base.
