Tignes

Purpose-built high-altitude base: snow-sure, ski-in/ski-out, party-leaning.

Tignes is the higher of Espace Killy's two bases at 1,550–2,100 m, with most lodging built ski-in/ski-out around four resort villages (Le Lac, Le Lavachet, Val Claret, Les Brévières). Architecture skews 1960s-functional rather than chocolate-box, and the trade-off is direct lift access from your door and the most snow-sure base in the French Alps. Nightlife is loud and young; families tend to favour Le Lac for quieter access.
